JOB-W-003 - Mechanical Technician (Full-Time) – Kampala

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Technician to join our fabrication and manufacturing team in Kampala. The ideal candidate should have at least 8 years of hands-on experience in mechanical systems, fabrication machinery, and equipment maintenance, with strong knowledge of spare part replacement, troubleshooting, and periodic servicing.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

erform preventive and corrective maintenance on fabrication and production machinery.
Diagnose mechanical faults, identify worn or defective parts, and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
Maintain equipment logs and prepare maintenance reports.
Assist in installation, calibration, and alignment of mechanical systems and components.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and operational standards.
Collaborate with the production and electrical teams to ensure continuous equipment uptime.
Monitor spare part inventory and coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.
Support fabrication operations by ensuring machines operate efficiently and reliably.

Qualifications and Requirements

Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
Minimum 8 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and rotating equipment systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and manuals.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Must be disciplined, punctual, and safety-conscious.
